Traumatic Posterior Fossa Extradural Haematoma
Posterior fossa extradural haematoma is known for the vague signs and symptoms and a notorious course that varies from recovery to sudden death. The incidence of posterior fossa epidural hematomas among intracranial epidural hematomas has been reported from 4% to 7%. Subsequently, PFEDH with low GCS or the haematoma of more than 10ml were subjected to evacuation. Since the volume of the posteri...
متن کاملPosterior fossa subdural haematoma associated with anticoagulant therapy.
This is a report of spontaneous posterioir fossa subdural haematoma associated with anticoagulation therapy. The possibility of posterior fossa lesions related to spontaneous haemorrhage is suggested by the combination of severe headache and increasing disturbance of consciousness associated with signs of brain-stem decompensation. A thorough neurological evaluation including appropriate contra...
متن کاملExtra-Axial Medulloblastoma in the Cerebellar Hemisphere
Extra-axial medulloblastoma is a rare phenomenon. We report a case in a 5-year-old boy who presented with nausea, vomiting, and gait disturbance. He was treated with total removal of the tumor. This is the first case of an extra-axially located medulloblastoma occurring in the cerebellar hemisphere posteriolateral to the cerebellopontine angle in Korea. Although the extra-axial occurrence of me...
متن کاملPosterior cranial fossa venous extradural haematoma: an uncommon form of intracranial injury.
Extradural haematomas are commonly associated with direct trauma to the temporal bones of the cranium resulting in damage to the middle meningeal artery or its branches. A case is presented of an occipital skull fracture with venous sinus bleeding that resulted in a posterior cranial fossa extradural haematoma. Bleeding in this area, if unrecognised, may lead rapidly to respiratory arrest secon...
متن کاملProptosis presenting as a delayed sign of frontal extradural haematoma.
We report a case of a young man who presented with proptosis as a delayed manifestation of a frontal extradural haematoma (EDH) following a minor head injury. A computed tomography (CT) of the brain done 72 hours after trauma revealed a large extradural haematoma in the right anterior cranial fossa with orbital roof fracture and subperiosteal clot extension into the orbital cavity. Right fronta...
